DINNER DANCE & RALLY 2010

 

 

Cumbria Centre would like to invite you to join them at their

2010 Annual Dinner Dance which will be held at

 

The White Heather Hotel, Kirkbride

 

on Saturday 27th February 2010.

 

The dance will be held on the evening of Saturday 27th February 2010, the evening will start with a reception at 6.30 pm for 7.00 pm.

 

The meal will be a choice of roast beef, roast turkey or a vegetarian option - please indicate your choice on the booking form.  Choice of starter and sweet will be made on the night.

 

Dancing will, once again, be to ‘New Era’.  Dress is either Lounge or Dinner suits for the men - Ladies usually go for their ‘posh frocks’.

 

Tickets will cost £27.00 each, and up to two tickets can be reserved for an initial deposit of just £10.  Full payment to be made by 31st January 2010.

THE RALLY

A rally will also be held at the venue, which is all level tarmac

standing around the hotel, with magnificent views over the Solway and of the light aircraft using the airfield adjacent.  Set in a largely unspoilt area of Cumbria, near the Solway Firth and large towns of West Cumbria, the rally is easily accessible from the motorway and Carlisle.  (Map Ref: 85 / 227 553)

 

The rally will open at 2.00pm on Thursday 25th February and close at 12.00 noon on Monday 1st March.  

 

‘Mr Malcolm Pearson, the owner of the Hotel has requested that

donations should be made to local charities in lieu of site fees.

 

The total ‘site’ plus rally fee (including VAT) will be:

1 night - £7;  2 nights - £10;  3 nights - £13;  4 nights—£16

 

 

 

 

DIRECTIONS—avoiding width restriction in Wigton

 

From Carlisle (M6):

Leave M6 at junction 43 (Rosehill Junction) take A69 into Carlisle.  In 1.2 miles at traffic lights bear right (s/p Through Traffic).  At T

junction turn right (s/p A595) and move into left hand lane, follow A595 at roundabout.  At McVities roundabout bear right (s/p

Kirkbride, B5307).  In about 10.5 miles follow signs for Kirkbride

Airfield and go through Kirkbride village.  Approx 200 yds past village turn right (s/p White Heather Hotel) and follow rally signs.

 

From Penrith & the South:

Leave M6 at junction 41, take B5305 (s/p Wigton).  Follow this road, taking care in Sebergham (steep hills & bridge).  At major road

junction, turn right onto A595 (s/p Carlisle).  At Thursby roundabout, turn left onto A596 (s/p Workington).  In about 4.5 miles turn right (s/p Kirkbride). After a further 4.5 miles turn left (s/p White Heather Hotel).  Follow rally signs.

 

 

 

 

OTHER LOCAL ACCOMMODATION

The centre has reserved all of the 4 rooms available in the Hotel; 3 B&B rooms are available in the village.  There is a wide choice of rooms in Carlisle (approximately 5 miles from the venue.)   

 

 

FRIDAY EVENING MEALS / QUIZ

Tea or coffee and biscuits will be provided at ’flag’ in the Hotel on
Friday evening, followed by a simple table quiz.  If there is sufficient demand the Hotel will also serve bar meals on this evening—please
indicate on the form if you would like to book a meal.   

 

 

SUNDAY LUNCH OR DINNER

Reasonably priced Sunday lunches and evening dinner will be available at the Hotel — Booking is advisable as they are very popular!

Payment of the balance (total dance tickets and rally fees) is to be made by 31st January 2010  -  post dated cheques will be accepted.
