A FEW WORDS FROM OUR IMMEDIATE PAST CHAIRMAN:
Dear Fellow Ralliers
For those of you who can remember the end of the Looney Tunes cartoons
“That ‘s all
Folks”!
At the AGM on 2nd October 2011 I retired as Chairman and we now have a new Centre Chairman and his lady - Andrew and Sheila Jackson. I hope you will give Andrew the support I have received.
Cath and I have enjoyed attending our own Centre rallies plus several events organised by other Centres. The 2011 rally programme has been very varied and rallies are being well supported by our own members and visitors from away.
My thanks to the rally secretary, rally officers and event organisers who are giving up their time in order that we may enjoy our caravanning. Please continue to give them and your new Chairman your support.
Best wishes to you all.
George Dixon
Immediate Past Chairman.
IMMEDIATE PAST CHAIRMAN
Mr George Dixon, Workington
CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE:

Following our return to active rallying it was never my intention to run rallies, get involved with the committee or take office again! However, when Deborah Black was Chairman she invited me to become the Northern Centres Rep. - which I accepted. At the time, the committee consisted of only five stalwarts all doing several jobs each. As a consequence of making that rash decision, I now find myself as Chairman of the Cumbria Centre!
The 2012 Rally Programme has, I know, caused Brian Aldersey much toil and heartache, but I should like to thank him for stepping up and taking on the onerous task of chasing would-be rally officers (myself included) to run rallies this year and provide him with the information required to complete this book. I should also like to thank Alan Wright who, as treasurer, has carried out his duties with enthusiasm and great good humour despite being, to some extent, ‘shanghied’ into the doing the job.
It would be very remiss of me not to include our secretary Alan Rowell, ably assisted by his P.A. Daphne - his good sense will, I am sure, keep me on the straight and narrow. His dedication to the task over the last twelve months is to be applauded. I must also thank those who have agreed to continue to serve on the committee again and those who have felt that they wished to join us for the first time. I am sure that they will find it interesting.
For the 2012 rallying year we have some familiar venues but also a number of new ones as well - a good spread across the county and hopefully something for everyone. The Centre website is being updated to provide details of next year’s rallies and the 2012 Centre Handbooks should all now have been received by Centre members. If you feel that you would like to run a rally in 2013, please see Brian and he will explain what is involved. In any event, enjoy what is on offer.
Sheila and I look forward to meeting you all in the year ahead.
Andrew Jackson
Cumbria Centre Chairman
