FINAL FLING - WILD ROSE APPLEBY

Well, you didn't have to be a clairvoyant to know that the Final Fling rally was going to be a good one - run by the trusty team of Sinc, Carol, Susan and John.

We arrived on Friday afternoon, fully anticipating being snowed in, after the trip over to Appleby -just managing to keep ahead of the sleety, howling stuff. We were greeted by the radiant smiling faces of Sinc, Susan and John.

On Friday evening, we had Welcome Flag in the anteroom, with unlimited coffee, tea and biscuits, where Sinc gave us all the rally and local info and greeted new and visiting ralliers. There were only 11 vans on the rally, which was disappointing, perhaps due to adverse weather conditions, which weren't quite antarctic, but heading that way!!

Saturday was a free day, with a "Bit of a Do" in the evening. The Christmas market at Orton was worth a trip, great cheese, bacon and of course the Chocolate factory. On Saturday night we got dressed up to go to the restaurant for our Christmas dinner. We had a lovely meal and afterwards, in Sinc's inimitable style, played lots of games. I can't make up my mind - does that hilarious Tommy Cooper touch come naturally Sinc? Whatever..... Was it an anticlimax? Absolutely not!! Was it brilliant ? A resounding Yes !!

However, if we had to be a little pedantic, we feel we should point out the flagrant disregard of rules for marking competitions - especially the ANT one !!!

Closing flag on Sunday morning where everyone received a van prize ( so thanks to the generosity of the donors ) and gave us all a chance to wish everyone a safe tow home.

A very pleasant way to start Christmas and to put us in festive spirits.

Thank you for a lovely time - Sinc, Carol, Susan and John.

Margaret and Stephen Riley (on behalf of all the ralliers.)

ps I make that 12 Ants in total Sinc, one for each of the days of Christmas!!
