CHAIRMANS’S MESSAGE

2007 was memorable for the Club's centenary celebrations that concluded with our rally at Bassenthwaite Lake. We were privileged to be able to represent you at many of the events up and down the country, including the once-in-a-lifetime Buckingham Palace Garden Party.

I would like to thank the Rally Secretary, Committee and all the Rally Officers who have volunteered to organise events for our enjoyment - we are particularly grateful to the new rally officers who have come forward. We are currently running with a small but dedicated committee, but to maintain the current number and variety of rallies and activities we offer, we need your support. All offers of assistance will be gratefully received.

If you are reading this as a new member or perhaps as someone who has yet to try a rally - I hope that you will find something to tempt you in this year's programme. Whichever rally you choose, you can be sure of a warm welcome and the chance to enjoy the event in your own way.

The Welcome to New Ralliers rally in March 2007 was a great success and we will be running it again this year. It is a good opportunity to 'dip a toe in the water' alongside other new ralliers, meet regular ralliers and find out more about the centre.

I will be launching my charity fundraising drive with a Grand Halloween Party in October, and would be grateful for your support then and throughout the following year. Cumbria Centre has a marvellous record for supporting local charities and I'm sure that we will do so again.

Malcolm, 'the girls', and I look forward to meeting all our friends - the familiar faces and the ones we have yet to meet - at rallies during the year and extend our very best wishes for the 2008 season to you all.
